Sorting for Mrs. Feller

Hi.  I am looking for volunteers to help Mrs. Feller go through the damaged materials in her classroom from the water main break.  They can't get in there to clean the room until the items have been sorted through.  I have set the sign up in two hour blocks.  Please DO NOT feel you must sign up for two hours.  Just pick a slot and give whatever time you have.  Any amount of time will be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Donation Items for Treat Bags

Hi everyone

Thank you to those who have signed up to donate items for the treat bags the kids in the winning class will get. There are still a few spots left if you are interested/able to donate at this time.

Just a reminder the items can be sent to school with your child anytime before Feb 28th and noted to turn into to Jennifer Newingham. She is collecting the items in her office.

And remember, keep clipping those Box Tops and sending to school! Each one is worth 10cents and they add up very fast! This money will help our PSG provide great things for the school!

Happy Monday!
Alison

Box Tops Goody Bags

Dear Parents

During the month of February we celebrate Valentine's Day to show our love to others. The PSG thought we should show our LOVE to BECC by holding a special Box Tops for Education class contest and awarding the students of the winning class with FUN goody bags and extra recess!

If you are able to help by purchasing and donating items for the bags, please sign up by visiting www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0C4AA5AF2FA1FC1-boxtopThe items will need to be sent to school with your child and labeled to turn into Jennifer Newingham for the BTFE Goody Bag's by or before Feb 28th.

Students in both the AM and PM classes will get goody bags. We are asking for 50 of each item since class sizes vary. The sign up is broken out in 10's so you can sign up for as many or few as you choose. We need a total of 50 of each item.

Most of the items are found at our local Dollar Store. Since we do not know the winning class, knowing how many girls and boys there will be is not possible. Therefore, do your best to shop for gender neutral, but I will work with Jennifer once we know the winning class and create boy and girl bags if items are more specific.

If you have other Goody Bag ideas that you think would be FUN to include, please feel free to contact me and I can add to this list. We want to make this FUN for the kids so they too become involved in gathering those Box Tops that will help BECC earn money for programs and supplies!

Thank you in advance!

Box Top Competition February 1-28

Dear Families and Friends,
BECC needs your help to reach our Box Tops for Education collection goal of $500 for the school year! As of Jan. 1, we have collected $140.
To show BECC our LOVE for the month of February, we are having a class competition.
February 1 - 28, your child can bring in Box Tops for Education to their classroom, instead of dropping off in the main office. Your child's teacher will keep all the Box Tops for both their AM and PM class together.
The winning class (AM and PM) will receive extra recess and a special goodie bag! In addition, the class will be featured on our BECC and BECC PSG Facebook pages and in the weekly e-newsletter. The winning class will be announced on Monday, March 10.
It's one of the easiest ways to give back to our school...
o Clip Box Tops from over 200 products
o Trim off excess packaging to make it easy for volunteers to prepare for submission and make sure it has not expired
o Send to school in your child's backpack in either a sandwich bag/envelope or attached to the enclosed collection sheet
Even after February, every Box Top collected will count toward our school goal. Please continue to save them and send to school with your child. In March, the collection box will be back in the main office and we will continue to collect until the last day of school.

EVERY DIME COUNTS!
TOGETHER, WE CAN DO IT!!

PSG December Update

Good evening, BECC families!

Happy holidays to everyone!  With the semester winding down and no PSG meeting this month, I thought I would send out a short update on how the PSG is doing.

It's been quite a process but our paperwork to make the PSG a full not for profit organization has been received by the IRS.  Tami, our Treasurer, and I agree this means our tax exempt status is now pending.  Yeah!!

Our Relay for Life team wrapped up their Butter Braid fundraiser today.  If you still have orders that you have not turned in, please contact Marcie Cates right away.

In speaking with Melissa Smith, the BECC Clinic nurse, she is in need of children's underwear sizes 3T-5/6 boys and girls, new or old.  She also needs gently used coats and pants.  If your child has outgrown some clothing that fits this description, please consider donating them to the clinic.

We will start planning our Pup Strut soon.  This will be our get-up-and-go fundraiser in the spring.  If any families have experience with this type of fundraiser at the elementary level, we would appreciate any and all input.  Please feel free to contact me by email at janet.a.moser@gmail.com.

Our Box Tops for Education program is on temporary hold.  Our school has been denied the privilege of this program because we do not have any students attending Kindergarten through 8th grade in the building.  We are working on partnering with Cardinal Elementary to come up with a plan to submit our box tops through their program.  Thank you Cardinal for your assistance!

The library program is steadily moving forward.  The teachers have had their orientation on how the Brownsburg Public Library's mobile library program is going to work while we work on a more permanent solution for the preschool.  We are still waiting on the promised donated book trucks from the school corporation and will follow up on this.  Once we have carts, we can organize a book donation program.  Details of the book donation plan will be sent home in the near future.  Finally, Amy has spoken with Scholastics regarding a book fair, which we would like to have in the spring semester near the time of our Snacks with Students.  Thanks for all of your hard work, Amy!!

If I've missed anything, any topic or there is something you would like to see the PSG do, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you all so very much for your participation.  You are who make the PSG successful.

Regards,

Janet Moser
