The Pup Strut is one of the PSG’s primary fundraising events
and will be held October 1st & 2nd. Students
participate in a five part obstacle course which concludes with a tricycle race
to the finish. Each student will receive a Pup Strut T-shirt , participation
ribbon and refreshments. Next week we will be holding our Pup Strut Shirt Design
Contest at the BECC. The winning student’s drawing will be featured on the
front of the T-shirt. The back of the T-shirts will feature the logos of our
generous sponsors. We still have availability for additional business sponsors
and the deadline for sponsorship is September 4. If you have a business and
would be interested in being featured in our event, please contact Angie

Call All Pup Strut Sponsors!
Our largest fundraiser each year is our Pup Strut! It is coming up on Thursday and Friday, October 2 and 3. We need your help. If you know someone who would be willing to be a sponsor for us, please pick up a sponsor packet from the office and have them complete and return it to BECC by August 29th. The Pup Strut allows our PSG to purchase t-shirts for every student. The PSG also provides support and classroom resources for the BECC Staff. Thank you for your continued support.

6:33 Meeting called to order
Executive Board Reports:
President - Janet:
- Pup Strut was a great success. Next year Pup Strut will be moved to end of September or Early October (Tentatively October 2 and 3) to balance the PSG activities with the school year.
- PSG table will be set up at BECC open house/meet the teacher night on July 30 at 6:30 and 7:00.
- Meeting for next Pup Strut and Executive committee will be the 1st week of school.
Vice President - DeVanna:
- Still need 3 more parent volunteers to host the end of year class room parties.
- Laminating machine has arrived and needs to be set up.
- PSG drawer is now in workroom.
Treasurer - Tami:
- Bank Balance $3,905.82.
- 258.36 set aside for library.
- 2,457.19 net profit from Pup Strut.
- $83.15 bill for snacks with students food.
- Need to draft budget for 2014-2015. Projecting a $50 per teacher grant and a $500 enrichment program for in house field trips.
Secretary - Sonja:

Preschool Coordinator - Jennifer:
- Thank you to PSG for their hard work.

Library:
- More books are being organized and on the way.
- Next book fairs are scheduled for December 1, 2014 and March 12, 2015. The next read-a-thon set for week of December 1, 2014
Relay for Life:
- Event on May 17
- BCSC has raised $46,000 and BECC has raised $1,850 plus money collected in class coin wars
- Still need Mardigras beads and prizes
- Hendricks county Bank and Trust will be weighting/counting coins
Box Tops/Labels for Education
- Last Box Top submission check will be paid out in October/November
- One last submission will be done at the end of May.
- Last pick up for the school year will be June 4th.

Pup Strut Fundraiser

- Date set for October 2nd and 3rd, 2014 (tentatively)
- Captured Memories: has already donated to be our sponsor for next year
- Suggestions for next year: No race bibs, concentrate on participation ribbons, have one parent in charge of taking photos, have teachers let the photographer know which children are not to be photographed with a sticker, parents should sign up to help their child’s class instead of stations during the event.
Announcements:
- Amy Huang will be president for 2014-2015 school year; Vice President will be Jennifer Campanelli. In the event a Treasurer is needed, a candidate has been identified.
- Next PSG executive committee meeting is August 20, 2014. Next public PSG meeting is September 10th at 6:30

Executive Board Reports:
President - Janet:
- Pup Strut – For the event, we will start in the gross motor skills room with two or three obstacles. Students will have race bibs and will receive a stamp or sticker when completing this task. They will then ride tricycles around the circle drive to receive their next sticker and finish the event on the playground. Each participant will receive a Pup Strut T-shirt and participation ribbon. Prizes will be awarded based on fundraising. Prizes are to be determined.
- Sponsor for the Pup Strut have been identified by the committee and are being contacted. We are still collecting sponsors.
- 135 Parents will be attending snacks with students.
Vice President - DeVanna:
- Work room organization has begun.
Treasurer - Tami
- Bank balance $1,741.66, setting aside $500 for Library, $1,241.66 is available for PSG use.
- Income: Snacks with Students $120, Interest $ .12, $5.00 Brownsburg Education Fund (Yankee Candle Promo).

- Pup Strut May 1 and 2. Still to decide on shirts and price. Students have been submitting their artwork for T-shirt logo. Pup Strut committee meeting April 10th at the library. Still looking for sponsors and volunteers for event. Sign up Genius to go out after Spring break to volunteer to help run the event.
Relay for Life
- Our tent theme is Mardi Gras. We are planning an "Art Sale" as a fundraiser showcasing BECC student art. Other activities being considered: face painting, ladder ball, a putting green, Mardi Gras beads and cake pops.
- Day of event volunteers needed in 2 hour shifts to man our tent from 10am-10pm on May 17
- Spirit Week: May 12-16 leading up to Relay for Life. Each day will have a theme. Coin war competition is being planned between classes. Age appropriate education curriculum will be shared with students. Instruction letter to be send home in back packs to guide families how to register online and get involved.
Box Tops
- Box top collection totaled 6,400 Box Tops. Check coming for $566.80 in late April or early May.
- Ms. Ravech's class was the winner, prize bags passed out to class.
- Collection Box returned to front office so please keep sending them in.
- Next submission will be in May.
Campbell's Labels for education
- Application pending.
Staff Appreciation
- With help from Alison, Valentine bags were passed out to the entire staff
- Need to gather supplies and ideas for Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5-9) plus end of year token.
