Meeting called to order

~Box Tops deposited (from the end of last year, 1st part of this year) $523.20

Digital Parenting Information Session-Dec 3rd @ 6:30 pm

Fall Parties~Amy Huang
~not all classes have volunteers, but all classes do have games & crafts planned so teachers will be asked to help facilitate parties

Committee Reports:

Relay for Life~Jennifer Newingham
~BECC has a chair, and will just need the PSG to help the day of the event

Dine to Donate~Amy Huang
~It was suggested that we look into a different restaurant to encourage teachers, and extended family members to participate
            -suggestions-Scotty’s, Bob Evans, Marco’s, Orange Leaf
~Delaware Trail made $500 @ Chick-Fil-A with teachers dressing up & serving food
~Next Dine to Donate will be Hot Skates Dec. 6th from 3-6 pm
            -Hot Skates to design flyers, people will need to bring flyer or card to skate
            -$6/person to skate, $2 to the PSG

Pup Strut~Sonja Davies
~Student donations-$1900, Corporate donations-$2050
~only 25% of students donated, a goal for next year would be $10/student
~notes for next year-change prizes to gift card to Lincolnwood Toy Store, increase the amount, and reward top 2 students

-pizza, will need food warmers, make calls for best price on pizza
            -pizza place to provide plates, napkins, forks

            -planning to apply for donations from local businesses, as well as Disney, King’s Island, and gift card donations
            -each class will have a theme and students will be asked to donate items to make a class basket that will then be auctioned
            -teachers to donate time with students~Robin McCollum-some teachers were interested, not everyone had responded

Box Tops~Angie Hubbell
~There will be a bubble party for the 1st place class in the contest that ends Dec. 5th, each student will receive their own bubbles to take home
~they are planning 2 more contests, one involving goodie bags for the students, it was suggested to make bags gender neutral
~Labels for Education collected 350 labels that will be doubled, & 450 bonus goldfish labels
            -Kroger card-register card online for labels for education           

Book Fair~Amy Huang
~Dec 1-5
~support staff to help

Staff Appreciation
~Friday they will be getting donuts, & there will be another event planned for December

Library~Amy Huang (Jenny Ye-chair was not able to attend)

PSG Meeting_September 10


BROWNSBURG EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER PSG MEETING MINUTES

September 10, 2014, 6:30 pm

Meeting called to order
            Amy welcomed everyone to the first meeting, introduced board members (Amy Huang, Sonja Davis, Amy Gilmore were present), the group went around and stated their name and what class their child is in.

Previous meeting notes
            No need to read the minutes from last year.

Pup Strut/October 2nd & 3rd-Sonja Davis
            ~last year we raised $1500 from local businesses
            ~this year we raised $2050 from 20 local businesses
            ~extra shirt sales raised $200
            ~245 t-shirts were ordered/each child will get a t-shirt
~this is our biggest fundraiser-helps buy classroom supplies and bring in
            field trips to students, such as the fire rescue dog
            ~student sponsor forms is all profit, as t-shirts are paid for
            ~sign-up genius for volunteers, no extra siblings allowed

Jennifer Newingham-BECC updates
            ~appreciate parent support
            ~laminating budget is already spent for the year, only PSG may laminate

Miss Hoffman is teacher representative, but was not present because she is getting married!

Box Tops-Angie
            ~new collection bags in each class
            ~1st contest of the year will run from now until October 3rd
            ~goal for the year $1000/10,000 box tops

Staff Appreciation-Kelly & Tatum
            ~staff dinner for conference night

            ~books have been donated, labeled and ready for use

Scholastic Book Fair-December
            ~needs a committee chair
            ~will need volunteers to work register during drop off/pick up

            ~silent auction, parents to donate-each class will have a theme

Blog Spot

Relay for Life

            ~chair will start meeting with RFL spokesperson in March
            ~RFL ends with a 24 hour party at the town hall
            ~fundraiser last year was butter braids and coin wars
            ~brainstorming for this year-t-shirts for RFL

Other fundraising ideas:
            ~garage sale-parents buy tables and can sell things
            ~raffle time with teachers

Pre-order 2014-2015 Pup Strut Shirts

 Here is the winning drawing that is going to be on our Pup Strut shirts. Your child will be receiving one, but if you would like to order one for yourself or other children please fill out the order form in the front office or ask your child's teacher for an order form.

Call All Pup Strut Sponsors!

Our largest fundraiser each year is our Pup Strut!  It is coming up on Thursday and Friday, October 2 and 3.  We need your help.  If you know someone who would be willing to be a sponsor for us, please pick up a sponsor packet from the office and have them complete and return it to BECC by August 29th. The Pup Strut allows our PSG to purchase t-shirts for every student.  The PSG also provides support and classroom resources for the BECC Staff.  Thank you for your continued support.

This will be our first full year as a PSG and can't wait to share all the fun activities we have planned for the students and teachers. The PSG can't do it without you. Please plan on visiting our table on Open House night. We look forward to seeing you there.

Minutes from May 14, 2014

6:33 Meeting called to order 
Executive Board Reports: 
President - Janet:   
  • Pup Strut was a great success.  Next year Pup Strut will be moved to end of September or Early October (Tentatively October 2 and 3) to balance the PSG activities with the school year. 
  • PSG table will be set up at BECC open house/meet the teacher night on July 30 at 6:30 and 7:00. 
  • Meeting for next Pup Strut and Executive committee will be the 1st week of school. 
Vice President - DeVanna: 
  • Still need 3 more parent volunteers to host the end of year class room parties. 
  • Laminating machine has arrived and needs to be set up. 
  • PSG drawer is now in workroom. 

Treasurer - Tami:   
  • Bank Balance $3,905.82. 
  • 258.36 set aside for library. 
  • 2,457.19 net profit from Pup Strut. 
  • $83.15 bill for snacks with students food. 
  • Need to draft budget for 2014-2015.  Projecting a $50 per teacher grant and a $500 enrichment program for in house field trips. 
Secretary - Sonja: 
  • Big Thank you to Janet for great work this year! 
Preschool Coordinator - Jennifer: 
  • Thank you to PSG for their hard work. 
Teacher Representative - Sarah:   
  • Robin Hoffman will be the teacher representative for 2014-2015 school year. 
Staff Appreciation: 
  • Kelly made up holiday, Easter and teacher appreciation gifts.  She would like to continue this tradition for next year 
  • Need more contact email information for donations and volunteers for next year 
  • End of year staff luncheon scheduled for Monday, June 2, 2014. 
Library: 
  • More books are being organized and on the way. 
  • Next book fairs are scheduled for December 1, 2014 and March 12, 2015. The next read-a-thon set for week of December 1, 2014 
Relay for Life: 
  • Event on May 17 
  • BCSC has raised $46,000 and BECC has raised $1,850 plus money collected in class coin wars 
  • Still need Mardigras beads and prizes 
  • Hendricks county Bank and Trust will be weighting/counting coins 
Box Tops/Labels for Education 
  • Last Box Top submission check will be paid out in October/November 
  • One last submission will be done at the end of May. 
  • Last pick up for the school year will be June 4th. 
  • $571.70 collected from Box Tops  from August to February 
  • Need Box Top/Labels for Education Poster for Meet the Teacher PSG table 
  • Labels for Education account has been approved. 
  • Need new Box Top/ Labels for Education person for 2014-2015 school year 

Pup Strut Fundraiser 
  • $2,153.60 raised by students and $1,650.00 raised by sponsors. 
  • Date set for October 2nd and 3rd2014 (tentatively) 
  • Captured Memories: has already donated to be our sponsor for next year 
  • Suggestions for next year: No race bibs, concentrate on participation ribbons, have one parent in charge of taking photos, have teachers let the photographer know which children are not to be photographed with a sticker, parents should sign up to help their child’s class instead of stations during the event. 
Announcements: 
  • Amy Huang will be president for 2014-2015 school year; Vice President will be Jennifer Campanelli.  In the event a Treasurer is needed, a candidate has been identified. 
  • Next PSG executive committee meeting is August 20, 2014.  Next public PSG meeting is September 10th at 6:30

March 6, 2014 

Meeting called to order 6:35

All board members present 

Executive Board Reports: 
President - Janet: 
  • Pup Strut – For the event, we will start in the gross motor skills room with two or three obstacles.  Students will have race bibs and will receive a stamp or sticker when completing this task.  They will then ride tricycles around the circle drive to receive their next sticker and finish the event on the playground.  Each participant will receive a Pup Strut T-shirt and participation ribbon.  Prizes will be awarded based on fundraising.  Prizes are to be determined. 
  • Sponsor for the Pup Strut have been identified by the committee and are being contacted.  We are still collecting sponsors. 
  • 135 Parents will be attending snacks with students. 

Vice President - DeVanna: 
  • Work room organization has begun. 

Treasurer - Tami 
  • Bank balance $1,741.66, setting aside $500 for Library, $1,241.66 is available for PSG use. 
  • Income:  Snacks with Students $120, Interest $ .12, $5.00 Brownsburg Education Fund (Yankee Candle Promo). 
  • No expenses at this time. 
  • 2013 Tax Return to be filed shortly. 


Secretary - Sonja: 
  • Nothing to report at this time. 

Teacher Representative - Sarah: 
  • Working on wish list from teachers. This will be posted outside the teachers’ classrooms so parents can see what supplies teachers might need and fill them. 
  • Donorschoose.org...fundraiser for teachers supplies 

Preschool Coordinator - Jennifer 
  • Signed up BECC for Campbell’s Labels for Education.  Waiting for confirmation email.  Teachers will be able to shop from catalog with points.  Collection box to be put in front office. 

Committee Reports: 

Fundraising 
  • 135 Parents RSVPed to Snacks with Students.  Still waiting for bill from cafeteria for parent snacks.         
  • Pup Strut May 1 and 2. Still to decide on shirts and price.  Students have been submitting their artwork for T-shirt logo.  Pup Strut committee meeting April 10th at the library.  Still looking for sponsors and volunteers for event.  Sign up Genius to go out after Spring break to volunteer to help run the event. 


Relay for Life 
  • Our tent theme is Mardi Gras.  We are planning an "Art Sale" as a fundraiser showcasing BECC student art.  Other activities being considered:  face painting, ladder ball, a putting green, Mardi Gras beads and cake pops. 
  • Day of event volunteers needed in 2 hour shifts to man our tent from 10am-10pm on May 17 
  • Spirit Week: May 12-16 leading up to Relay for Life.  Each day will have a theme. Coin war competition is being planned between classes.  Age appropriate education curriculum will be shared with students.  Instruction letter to be send home in back packs to guide families how to register online and get involved. 

Box Tops 
  • Box top collection totaled 6,400 Box Tops.  Check coming for $566.80 in late April or early May. 
  • Ms. Ravech's class was the winner, prize bags passed out to class. 
  • Collection Box returned to front office so please keep sending them in. 
  • Next submission will be in May. 

Campbell's Labels for education 
  • Application pending. 

Staff Appreciation 
  • With help from Alison, Valentine bags were passed out to the entire staff 
  • Need to gather supplies and ideas for Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5-9) plus end of year token.

Library: 
  • Library is ready to use with over 1,000 books on the shelves 
  • Scholastic book fair week of March 11 
  • If we sell over $2,000 worth of books we get 40% back from Scholastic 

New Business: 

  • Spring party moved to February next year with Valentine theme  
  • May 22 & 23 End of year celebration and Field Day with PSG support.  Dates for Field Day are pending due to snow days in June 
  • Looking for parents to fill open PSG positions for next year. If interested, please contact Janet Moser at janet.a.moser@gmail.com.
